GL Accountant

To support the further growth of this company located in Antwerp, we’re looking for a GL Accountant. Are you well organized and dynamic, this function is the perfect opportunity to start or take a turning point in your professional career.

The GL Accountant will be responsible for:

• You maintain the GL balances of all entities.

• You book accruals and prepayments prior to closing.

• You maintain the fixed asset registers.

• You keep track of leasing and financing contracts.

• You create all new entities following acquisitions.

• You prepare monthly closing files for review.

• You assist business & corporate controllers with consolidated management reporting & budget.

• You provide support to auditors and external accountants as well as tax specialists.

• You assist the Accounting Manager in ad hoc projects.

• You act a sparring partner for the controllers for all accounting related matters. prepare financial statements according to local GAAP applicable, together with local consulting firms and auditors.

• You drive various improvement actions in Accounting (standardizations, automation, simplifications…) together with the accounting team, and you prepare proposals for the automation of the above tasks.

Profile of ideal GL Accountant:

• A Bachelor degree in accounting and at least a first experience in a similar role
• Fluent in Dutch and good knowledge of English and French
• Experience with accounting software and Excel
