Senior Accountant

A new Senior Accountant job has just become available for a logistics firm in Antwerp. You are the sparring partner of the Finance Manager and you work closely together with two accountant colleagues.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

• Monthly and quarterly closings (general ledger entries, reconciliations, accruals & provisions)
• Monthly balance reconciliations
• Prepare accounts receivable/payables aging list and managing debtors and creditors
• Assist monthly VAT declaration and tax return preparation
• Coaching and supervision of 2 (junior) accountants
• Assist invoice scanning, booking and electronic document approval flow
• Support in documentation and Q&A during internal and external audit
• Prepare annual accounts
• Matching and controlling intercompany transactions
• Execution of weekly payment runs
• Assist and contribute preparing budgeting , monthly forecasting and other ad hoc projects

Profile of ideal Senior Accountant:

• You have obtained a bachelor degree in accounting, or equivalent by experience
• You have 5 years relevant experience
• You have a good IT knowledge of Excel
• Fluent in Dutch with good knowledge of English
• You show initiative at work
• You have an eye for detail, but still you keep an overview
• You have a sense of responsibility and have the necessary commitment
• You are precise, enjoy working with figures and are eager to learn
