Accounts Payable - Transition to clean energy sector

One of our clients based in Brussels is looking for an AP accountant. Our client helps accelerating the transition to clean energy. The purpose is to be a key expert in the AP activities of the Corporate Accounting department.

As AP accountant, your tasks will be the following:

• Accounts payable (A/P) management from A to Z for Holdings & Financing corporate entities in Belgium: invoices approval workflow, up-to-date bookkeeping of A/P invoices, regular follow-up of aging balances and suppliers payment;
• Preparation and processing of suppliers payment batches);
• Preparation of ad-hoc payments in the banking system;
• Bookkeeping of the bank statements and financial transactions;
• Preparation of the periodic VAT return in collaboration with the Group Senior Accountant;
• Identify and propose efficiency improvements wherever possible;
• Continued digitization and automation of A/P processes;
• Close collaboration with General Ledger Team to handle any internal and external requests related to the Accounts Payable matters;
• Dealing with (ad-hoc) requests from Corporate & Holdings Accounting Manager;
• Participation to the upcoming implementation of a new ERP in particular P2P module.

Ideal profile of the AP accountant:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• You have knowledge of BE GAAP & VAT principles
• Excellent verbal/written communication in English
• You can work in an international environment as well as In a rapidly growing company
