GL Accountant

A new GL Accountant job has just become available for an international firm in Zaventem, active in the automotive sector. If you have some years of experience in accounting and you value analytical work in an international environment with a pleasant work atmosphere? Then this is the job for you!

The GL Accountant will be responsible for:

You will be part of the accounting team, consisting of 3 colleagues, and you report directly to the Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for the General Ledger activities of the Belgian entity and will also be in contact with different entities within Europe:

• You prepare the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
• You create the quarterly balance sheet and execute the profit & Loss analysis
• You manage the monthly travel expense accounting & reporting
• On a daily basis, you handle the bank transactions/ cash pool/ cash flow report
• You are responsible for the consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting
• You ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and safeguard compliance to internal policies
• On a regularly basis you interact with members in various departments, e.g. engineering, sales operations, IT and legal, foreign branches
• As a business partner for the team you support the accounting manager with ad hoc project

Profile of ideal GL Accountant:

• You have obtained your Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• You have at least 5 years of work experience in Accounting
• The internal communication is completely in English. Any other languages is a plus
• We need someone flexible and easy going, who can adapt easily to various international business cultures in the company
• You have excellent communication skills and team spirit supplemented with analytical thinking
• You have good knowledge of MS Office and SAP is a big plus
