Financial Controller

For a company located in Heverlee we’re looking for a Controller to join their finance department. You will work in a pleasant and stimulating environment within a financially healthy company.

The Controller will be responsible for:

• Overall responsibility for financial control and reporting on a day to day basis
• Manage all the company's transactions, from accounts payable to receivable, payroll and control accounts to the general ledger
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported and comply with Financial Policies & Procedures (both local regulations and group policies)
• Cash Management
• Month end and year end closing activities with various tasks according to group task list including reporting in Tagetik
• Yearend closing with Audit firms
• Forecast preparation, Forecast planning, Forecast Coordination and Forecast Reporting
• Budget preparation, Budget planning, Budget Coordination and Budget Reporting
• Mid-Range Plan (MRP) preparation and coordination
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
• Champion processes and system improvements to drive efficiencies across finance and the broader business
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve performance within scope of responsibility
• Overseeing all tax and regulatory/compliance issues and link to external partners and authorities in finance and tax matters
• Oversee and lead department staff in day-to-day operations
• Provide training / coaching interventions to ensure sufficient level of understanding of financial performance from non-finance people

Profile of ideal Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics
• Several years of experience in accounting
• You are hands on
• You are able to work in a smaller team
• Dutch speaking with good English
• Good knowledge of Excel
