Financial Controller

A new function as Financial Controller has just become available for a leading firm in Sint-Katelijne-Waver in the FMCG sector. This is a role within an international scope in a team of 3 controllers and Controlling Manager.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

• Support the monthly reporting of group results
• Control, report and comment evolution of group KPI’s
• Understand the corporate reporting tool set and take initiative to enhance this according to business needs liaising with finance and business stakeholders
• Work on improvement initiatives on processes and systems in group controlling
• Assist in the preparation of group wide policies and procedures
• Help to shift the needle from reporting the past to a forward-looking approach
• Coordinate the status report of the transformation projects and challenge the status quo
• Support the long-term planning process
• Prepare accurate ad hoc analyses
• Coordinate the financial (budgeting) calendar together with the reporting team

Profile of ideal Financial Controller:

• Master’s degree in applied economics, business engineering, commercial sciences or equivalent
• 3 tot 5 years’ experience as a financial analyst, financial controller or auditor
• Fluent in English. Knowledge of any other language is considered a plus.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills
• High curiosity to understand the business reality behind the numbers
• Clear and to the point communication style. Able to visualise data and present them to different stakeholders.
• Enthusiast, dynamic and professional attitude with a can-do mentality
• Strong drive and perseverance and stress resilient
• True team-player
