Junior finance controller

For an international trading company in the centre of Antwerp we’re looking for a Junior Finance Controller. As the junior finance controller you will work closely together with the senior financial controller & replace the latter during his/her absence and after some years on a permanent basis. The Junior finance controller will be responsible for:

• you will have complete controlling responsibility
• prepare and publish timely quarterly financial statements (balance sheet and income statements),
• make budget and financial forecasts and report variances on GL and cost accounting level,
• coordinate and assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic program review audits.
• review A/R, A/P reporting in close collaboration with the sales department
• ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• implementing and improving the financial and forex risk management
• additional controlling duties and responsibilities if necessary

Profile of ideal Junior finance controller:

• Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree in accounting
• relevant accounting and/or finance experience
• experience as (key) user with accounting software MS Dynamics Navision will be helpful
• have sufficient Excel and if possible Power Bi skills
• good verbal and written communication skills (Dutch and English) and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
