Analysing vacancy volumes across Belgium from Jobfeed*, we noticed that the number of job adverts for cash collectors rose by 143% since the beginning of this year compared to the same period last year.
What has pushed the demand for cash collectors to rise so quickly in the past 9 months? Antje Mentens, Consultant at Walters People Zaventem, talks about this latest trend on the Belgium job market.
What has led for such an increase in demand for cash collectors?
"The strong economic growth which we have been experiencing since 2016 has led companies to reinvest in the future. To finance these investments, they need cash flow. As a result, organisations are closely monitoring that payments are made in due time."
Where are most of these jobs located?
"48% of cash collection adverts concerned employment offers in the Antwerp region, followed by 25% in the Brussels region. Two out of three vacancies concerned permanent employment offers."
What makes this function so attractive for junior professionals?
"Although it's a classic 9-5 job, good organisational skills will allow you to manage your own time. Depending on the size of the company, part-time employment in this role can also often be an option. Ideal if you’re looking for a part-time job within finance. Salary wise, juniors can expect a higher salary than that of an assistant accountant."
